The
official religion of Iran is Islam , mainly of Shi’ ite
sect, although there are many Sunnis.Iran also has minority groups
of Zoroastrians, Jews, Armenians, Assyrians, Catholics and Protestants,
all of which are respected.
The mosques of Iran are an architectural treat, exemplifying the
Iranian' s love of beauty and his aesthetic consciousness. Large
in scale and superb in harmony, they feature fine domes, exquisite
tile-work and mosaic faience in glowing blues, whites and golds.
Masterpieces can be seen in Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz , Mashad ,and
Qom.
